Welcome to the first edition in a series of emails where I’ll be giving inside information on the making of the Complete Football Analytics in Python course.
I saw someone do this with a course they were creating so I thought it would be interesting to share with you guys progress and go behind the scenes on the course to help you understand exactly what it is and the power it will have.
Between now and the release of the course on March 28th, I’ll be going to share everything that’s gone into the creation of this course and what to expect from the course:
Why I decided to create the course
A breakdown of everything inside the course (plus some things on what I decided to not include)
How much the course will cost
And more
I want to be as transparent as possible so you know if this is something that is right for you or if you wouldn’t get any value from it. I’m sharing all of this because I hope it will be interesting and as well to answer any questions you may have before deciding to buy the course.
I also want you to know and see how much effort and energy I’m putting into the creation of this course. I’ve never put as much effort into a project to make it the best I can as I have this.
This course is very comprehensive and it will help you learn football analytics and Python. If you apply the course contents, then you’ll be able to thrive and set a great foundation for your career, whether that be in football, data, or any job.
So, why am I creating this course?
Football analytics can seem daunting, especially if you are starting from zero. I started from zero with no coding experience and with no real analysis experience or knowledge of the game other than what I watched on TV.
I’ve realized there is a big gap in teaching and structured material, especially for football analytics. This course changes that. I’ve been doing tutorials on YouTube for the past 4 years now, and while the videos have helped a lot of people there is no real path. It’s just videos I’ve made while I’ve been learning analysis as well.
This course will be structured, with over 10 hours of video content, articles, and with 2 hands-on projects. I’ll guide you through each step and at the end you’ll have a strong foundation of both coding in Python and football analytics.
Next week:
The next edition of this behind-the-making series will focus on what will be in the course and if the course is a good fit for you or not.
Most of the content is already figured out, planned, and recorded but if there’s something you’d like to see in the course feel free to respond to this email and let me know.
Until next time
McKay
I recently was laid off and want to take the next step in learning new technology and Python seems to always be a skill required and I've struggled to learn. Hoping the combination of football with python will help me to understand both python and get better analytically with football. Just hooe this course is affordable and really teaches us to from start to finish and can be then be used for other sports or areas in data. Thanks for doing this.
Can't wait for the course to be fully flushed out mckay, appreciate you!
